PvE rules in detail

What the server prevents. Players, death, bases, turrets, vehicles, loot and monuments.

All these rules are enforced by the server. They work at all times, whether you are online or not. One term to remember: your group means your in-game team.

Players

RuleDetails
No damage between groupsBullets, melee, explosives, fire, thrown items: nothing hurts a player outside your group. Your vehicle (if you run someone over), your traps and your turrets count as you too.
Passengers protectedA vehicle with someone from another group on board takes no damage from you: you can’t shoot down a heli or blow up a car with strangers inside.
No searching, robbing or handcuffingYou can’t search or handcuff a player from another group, whatever their state, even asleep.
Sleeping playersSame protection as a player who is awake.
Sleeping bagsYou can only give a sleeping bag to someone in your group.

Death

RuleDetails
Weapon keptThe weapon in your hands stays in your body instead of dropping to the ground.
Backpack keptYour backpack stays on your body.
Body reservedOnly your group can loot your body and your death bag, and pick up what dropped around you when you died. No time limit, apart from the game’s normal despawn.
Wounded for longerYou stay wounded (downed) much longer than in vanilla before dying: your group has time to pick you up.

To find your body, use /death (also /mort). See Death and bodies.

NPCs, the Bradley and the helicopter

RuleDetails
Safe at homeIn a base where you are authorized on the cupboard, no human NPC, Bradley or helicopter can target you or hurt you.
Unless you shoot from homeIf someone in your group attacks an NPC, the Bradley or the helicopter from your base, that target can fire back at your group at home for a while. Your base is not a risk-free sniper nest.
Nothing follows you homeAn NPC chasing you can’t target you any more once you are home.
Patrol HelicopterIt only chases and strafes players who attacked it recently. Everyone else is ignored, even if armed and well geared.
Bradley APCSame rule: it only targets those who attacked it recently. Convoy Bradleys follow their own rules (see Events).
AnimalsThe home protection only covers human NPCs: a wolf or a bear that follows you home can still bite.

Turrets, traps and SAM sites

EquipmentRule
Players’ turrets, traps and SAM sitesNever hit another group or its vehicles. Turrets still shoot at NPCs.
Outpost and Bandit Camp turretsUnchanged.
Monument and raid base SAM sitesUnchanged: they fire at anything that flies. A red dome shows around the ones that can fire at you (see Vehicles).

Your base

“Your base” is the building privilege zone of your Tool Cupboard (TC). Players authorized on the cupboard are “at home”.

Nobody outside your group can use, open, damage or take down anything of yours. This applies to everything your group owns, anywhere on the map, and to everything inside your base.

What visitors can still do in your base

A visitor can only buy from your vending machines, play your slot machines, post mail and knock on your doors.

World damage and upkeep

Whatever players built or placed takes no damage from NPCs, the helicopter, the Bradley, or event fires and debris. Only upkeep (decay) still applies, as in vanilla: keep your cupboard stocked.

Vehicles are not protected this way: NPCs, the helicopter, the Bradley and events can destroy them.

The Tool Cupboard and teams

RuleDetails
Who can authorizeOnly your team can authorize on your cupboard.
Never locked outYou can always authorize again on your own cupboard.
MaximumEach player can only place a limited number of cupboards.
Leaving a teamYou are removed from your former teammates’ cupboards and turrets.
Shared blueprintsBlueprints you got from your team are lost if you leave it or get kicked from it; the ones you learned yourself stay yours.

Building

RuleDetails
Inside another group’s baseForbidden: no ladder, no lock, no cupboard, no item, no building block.
Distance from another baseYou can’t build too close to another group’s base. Raid bases don’t count.
Distance from another playerOutside your base, you can’t build right next to a player from another group, even a sleeping one.

Vehicles and horses

RuleDetails
Bought from a vendorIt’s yours for good.
Free vehicleIt becomes yours as soon as you take the driver’s seat. This applies to helis, boats, cars, snowmobiles, bikes, submarines, horses and siege engines. Not to trains or hot air balloons, and not in raid bases.
Who can drive itOnly your group. Others can ride as passengers only if someone from your group is on board, and can never take the controls.
End of the claimA vehicle you only took (didn’t buy) becomes free again if it’s left abandoned for a long time. It stays yours if it’s parked in your base.
Horse bought at the stablesYours for good, like a bought vehicle.
Horse deathWhat drops from a horse you own goes to your group.

Always park your vehicles and horses in your base: there, they stay yours indefinitely.
